1. Download and install Garmin Mobile XT.

2. Extract the archive to your storage card.
3. Insert your storage card into your PPC, when prompted, install the
application.

4. Launch GMXT, got to Settings -> About.

5. Make note of your 'Card ID'

6. Launch the keygen, and type in your 'Card ID' into the 'Unit ID'
field.

7. Hit Generate button to generate device unlock key.

8. Copy (CTRL+C) your generated device unlock key to the clipboard.

9. Now open the Notepad and paste (CTRL+V) the key and save the file
as SW.UNL

10. Put your newly created file to your SD CardGarmin directory and
restart GMXT.

Unlock ESN).

2. Select Map product and hit the corresponding Generate button to
generate both Device & Map unlock key.

NOTE: If your map is not included in the Map product list, select
<custom mapset>, enter the corresponding MapID and hit OK.
If you are not sure about your MapID, install it first into the
MapSource, open regedit and browse for
one of the following keys:

Backroadmapbooks uses Garmin License technology to unlock and display the maps on your unit.The license files are used to unlock the maps on your device and can also be used to unlock the maps you have installed in Garmin Basecamp.

The .gma file is used to authenticate the maps on a GPSr when loaded from a microSD card.

Garmin Basecamp requires you import this file to authenticate the installed maps before they will display a fully detailed map.

The .unl file is the unlock key file and consists of your 25 digit key.

License files are located in the Garmin folder on the microSD card and are unique to each card.
